There is a true legacy at King’s College that you will be proud of, and it all begins at Orientation. There is a lot to adjust to when you start your college career, so we’ve designed a two-part orientation series for first-year students to maximize your preparedness and also have fun as you kick off this next chapter.
Summer Orientation Session

At Summer Orientation you will:
- Meet other first-year students
- Meet one-on-one with an academic advisor to review your class schedule for the Fall 2024 semester
- Learn about expectations for your collegiate experience
- Get a head start on forming connections with faculty and staff members
Parents and Guardians are highly encouraged to attend!
Summer Orientation offers parent and guardian sessions that showcase the student experience at King's and the partnerships that will positively impact their student's success.
Fall Welcome
August 22-24, 2024
All new students (including transfer and international) will attend the full weekend of Fall Welcome Orientation. With some of the administrative work out of the way, we’ve packed Fall Welcome Orientation with all the exciting events that launch your college career! On Thursday, resident students can begin moving in and commuter students checking in. After a welcome event at the gym, you’ll head into a brief advisement session, meet with your Holy Cross Experience (HCE) cohort, attend a resident floor meeting, and an evening welcome event. On Friday, you’ll spend the day with your HCE cohort participating in CitySERVE and learning about community volunteer opportunities. Friday also features wellness and diversity sessions and another evening welcome event. Saturday is when you’ll begin to settle in as a Monarch with sessions about student conduct and more social events.
